2007 moving right along

And I've bought no yarn since 1/1/07! I'm so proud of me.

I've joined the Fair Isle February KnitAlong. http://fair-isle-february.blogspot.com/ I hope to get some support in finishing the FI WIPs I have going:

Chullo hat, almost done
Snowflake mittens, cuff of one mitt done
Alice Starmore Roscalie vest, ~5" done
Philosopher's Wool Kilim Jacket - first sleeve about 1/3 done
Philosopher's Wool Diamond Eyes shawl, just barely started.

1. Starmore Vest

2. Philosopher's Wool Kilim Jacket

3. Philosopher's Wool Diamond Eyes shawl in Navajo

4. Snowflake Mittens

5. Chullo

The hat should be pretty easy to complete with the exception of the applied I-cord which I've never done. And learning to knit two-handed was not as difficult as I thought it would be. I think it's because I've crocheted for a number of years, too.

The biggest problem I'm having is with the PW shawl. After a few rounds you start putting steek stitches in so you can knit in the round. I understand steek stitches and such, just not the directions for this shawl. I hope it will all become clear when I get the book I ordered: Sheep to Shawl: http://www.philosopherswool.com/Pages/BookandVideo.htm Maybe there will be some good illustrations.

The weather continues to be very cold and snowy, but relief, we're told, in on the horizon, with temps supposed to get up into the 40s next week. WooHoo. Can Spring be far behind?
